All kidding aside, I grew up in an affluent, uniform suburban town with only three ways out of it, where everybody knew everybody else’s business. It was definitely a bubble that I had no interest of staying in, nor continuing to associate with its inhabitants. Despite its so-called utopian landscape (or rather seascape, based on location), there wasn’t much to do for a lonely teenager with no job, nor means of getting around.
