Caffeine 03:02
Feel the burn of growing pains With caffeine running through my veins. Ruined by these mental stains, You rub it and it still remains. It used to make me quiver like the lips that drank it down, But now that I’ve grown older, it’s my favorite way to drown These hopes that live in my head. The ones that have always been left unsaid. Dreams now crushed into grounds. Couldn’t quit if I tried, all the bitterness from inside is the only fuel I need on days when I forget to breathe. Plastic cups line the floor, can’t say if it helps anymore, But it sure snaps me back to reality. Feel the burn of growing pains With caffeine running through my veins. Ruined by these mental stains, You rub it and it still remains. Now here’s your wake-up call, So swallow every moment before losing it all. (Losing it all) So meet me in my memories. Through the steam, you can see them so blurry. Losing all their vibrancy, forgetting who I used to be. Hypnotized to this liquid, Scalding hot, yet so truly insipid. Hit the bottle for the irony. Couldn’t quit if I tried, all the bitterness from inside is the only fuel I need on days when I forget to breathe. Plastic cups line the floor, can’t say if it helps anymore, But the blood rush tells me that at least I’m not so weak. Spilling all over this tabletop, Watch it weep until its final drop. Feel the burn of growing pains With caffeine running through my veins. Ruined by these mental stains, You rub it and it still remains. Now here’s your wake-up call, So swallow every moment before losing it all. (Losing it all)

Stuck in between a rock and hard place, That vile voice sings, “Quit self-effacing.” Staring your moral sense in the face, You do what they say. No misbehaving. What sets you apart punishes the heart. Hard to find your spark with no match in the dark because Everything you want lies underneath the dirt, Building you up just to watch you fall to Earth. All the ones you knew remind you why you left. Welcome back to paradise, don’t you feel blessed? So Still your mind, we’re here to stay. There’s no out that leads astray, but Hold your head high, seek the way. Close the book, today’s the day. (Oooooh, today’s the day.) ‘Cause we know that life is so short and the longer you spend trying to tailor-make it Will cause it to rip at the seams, so do what you can even when you feel jaded. Everything you want lies underneath the dirt, Building you up just to watch you fall to Earth. All the ones you knew remind you why you left. Welcome back to paradise, don’t you feel blessed? So Still your mind, we’re here to stay. There’s no out that leads astray, but Hold your head high, seek the way. Close the book, today’s the day. (Oooooh, today’s the day.) Caught in-between all the push and the pull. Strip everything that’s ingrained in your skull, Sauter it all back together with new vitality. Set free the danger that nests in your mind. Power in numbers, no man left behind. Thank you for putting the person in personality. The things you crave at the bottom of a small town, Raising you up just to watch you fall. The ones you once knew remind you of the need to… Still your mind, we’re here to stay. There’s no out that leads astray, but Hold your head high, seek the way. Close the book, today’s the day. (Oh-oh, today’s the day.) (Oh-oh, today’s the day.) (Oh-oh, today’s the day.)

Like Magic 03:48
Criticize the person you’ve become, No use losing sleep over what’s done. Sanctify a world you’ll never know ‘til you learn to let go. Fantasy swims in the deep end. Exist, then live for the weekend. Admit that it’s never enough, you’d be calling your own bluff. We’re hidden gems in the rough. You’ve made your bed, now sleep in it. Lay sound asleep for a minute. See all the dreams you’ve been wishing on dissolve away. Trials in life appear systematic. Try not to fret, make a habit of it. I’m over feeling melodramatic. Yesterday’s panic vanishing like magic. Not like you’ll know what’s left to show if you keep hiding. Drawn into it like a moth to flame. Charmed by all the glow, but not the pain. Grass is greener on the other side ‘til you reach the landslide. The thunder of the glory comes and goes like bolts of light. Seek shelter from the storm, this time you’ll be alright. Trials in life appear systematic. Try not to fret, make a habit of it. I’m over feeling melodramatic. Yesterday’s panic vanishing like magic. You’ve made your bed, now sleep in it. Lay sound asleep for a minute. See all the dreams you’ve been wishing on dissolve away. Take what you want in this timeline, No need for living the high life. The only thing that is worth harping on is today. Not like you’ll know what’s left to show if you keep hiding. Trials in life appear systematic. Try not to fret, make a habit of it. I’m over feeling melodramatic. Yesterday’s panic vanishing like magic. Why worry over the endgame if it’s, It’s driving you crazy? It’s so stigmatic. I’m over feeling melodramatic. Yesterday’s panic vanishing like magic.

Saltwater 03:30
(La-da-da-da-da) There are days when I miss you more than you’ll ever know. You’re not gone, nor forgotten, caught in the undertow. When did we become strangers, and are you still the same? If I showed up at your door, would you dare speak my name? (Two sails once joined at the same mast.) Drag me out far away from the shoreline, Cold waves sweep against my skin. Giving into the saltwater divine, I can’t win. Iceberg at the center of the ocean, Crash into me one last time. Stand tall as I drown in slow motion. The sea’s where I resign. Can’t decide if my reasons for leaving were enough, But each time that I reached out, it’s like you’d given up. When all the amity hangs on a moment, Sometimes it’s harder to fight than to own it. Headed for a collision, is it true that we’ve moved on? Have we lost or can we still save us? Two sails once joined at the same mast, (At the same mast) One tattered by what’s left in the past. Drag me out far away from the shoreline, Cold waves sweep against my skin. Giving into the saltwater divine, I can’t win. Iceberg at the center of the ocean, Crash into me one last time. Stand tall as I drown in slow motion. The sea’s where I resign. I’m sorry for setting expectations too high, Hope it’s not too late ever since our last goodbye. And I only wish you well from a thousand leagues below, Just want you to know. Drag me out far away from the shoreline, Cold waves sweep against my skin. Giving into the saltwater divine, no, I can’t win. Drag me out far away from the shoreline, Cold waves sweep against my skin. (On my skin) Giving into the saltwater divine (the saltwater), I can’t win. Iceberg at the center of the ocean, Crash into me one last time. Stand tall as I drown in slow motion. (Yeah) The sea’s where I resign.

Sneaking in late through the back door, how’d I wind up on the floor Of this living room that doesn’t feel like home anymore? So grip your bottles and your friends and all your little odds and ends, ‘Cause one day you might bite off more than you intend. Feed your soul with fluorescent lights And denim jackets cruising down the parkway at night. Under the bleachers, flame in our hands. Debilitated by our future plans. I don’t want to go, but something’s pulling me by the wrist So for now, let’s do the things that we’ll grow to miss. Here’s for the kids who said they’d never settle down, Raised in the backyards of a characterless town. Truth or dare, you’ve got to prove a point. Never look back at the place we destroyed. (Stand on one foot and walk in a line, Acting like you’re not losing your mind.) We’re spoiled rotten in worn-out cotton, With insolence written on our sleeves. (Feed your soul with fluorescent lights And denim jackets cruising down the parkway at night.) Sunk in the alleys, poison in hand. Try not to think about our future plans. I don’t want to go, but something’s dragging me by the legs So for now, we’ll take our stand too close to the edge. (“If it’s not okay, then it’s not the end.”) Here’s for the kids who said they’d never settle down, Raised in the backyards of a characterless town. Truth or dare, you’ve got to prove a point. Never look back at the place we destroyed.
